Looking to Expand Your Reach? Apply to Add an “Indigenous Indicator” to your OTNhub Profile
Today, there are 70 First Nation communities leveraging telemedicine to access to clinical, educational and administrative health services. Using room-based videoconferencing systems, patients in these communities connect with clinicians and specialists across Ontario through eVisits (real-time video visits). OTN, and its partners at KOeHealth, are now offering First Nation communities a simpler and more convenient alternative to purchasing a room-based videoconferencing system. First Nation communities can now apply to receive a desktop computer equipped with videoconferencing peripherals so they can participate in eVisits through a private and secure web link.
As OTN expands its telemedicine services to Ontario’s First Nation communities, we encourage those of you who offer culturally appropriate services to update your OTNhub profile with the services you offer and apply to have an “Indigenous Indicator” added to your profile. The indicator will let First Nations know they can connect with you for services that consider the cultural sensitivities of their community. If you're interested in applying for this indicator, please contact Angie Fievoli, Equity Telemedicine Coordinator at OTN, at afievoli@otn.ca.
