Frequently Asked Questions
What are some tips for an optimal sign up experience?
Pre-application
- ONE® ID: Get a ONE® ID from Ontario Health whenever possible.
- Express Signup: For OTNhub member organization users who have a ONE® ID already, the shortest path is to sign in to the OTNhub with ONE® ID directly and you’ll access OTNhub services within minutes.
During application
Once your ONE® ID is set up, OTNhub will process your request for services within 1 to 2 business days and send email instructions on how to securely login to activate and access your OTNhub services. The entire process generally takes between 3 and 5 days. Watch for your email!
Post application
- Give my staff the ability to schedule: If you would like your administrators, office staff, or colleagues to schedule video visit events on your behalf, contact your organization’s Primary Contact for Service (PCS). If you are the PCS for your organization, you can add users through this process.
How do I access OTNhub services as an individual health care provider?
All individual health care providers should use a ONE® ID credential as your OTNhub account to access OTNhub services.
Physicians without ONE® ID can apply for ONE® ID on the CPSO website.
Other health care providers must be sponsored by an organization to get a ONE® ID.
Private Practice Providers
If you are a physician or allied health provider and want to apply for ONE® ID credentials for yourself or your support staff, use the Private Practice Sign Up form and Ontario Health will facilitate your ONE® ID application.
Health care organization Providers
If your organization has a ONE® ID Local Registration Authority (LRA), please contact your ONE® ID LRA. If you do not know who your ONE® ID LRA is, contact Ontario Health at 1-866-250-1554 or by email at servicedesk@ehealthontario.on.ca.
If your organization doesn’t have a ONE® ID LRA, the Primary Contact – Service, your organization’s point of contact for OTNhub will use the Health Care Organization Sign Up to request a ONE® ID on your behalf, and Ontario Health will facilitate your ONE® ID application.

How do I bill for video visits via OTNhub?
OHIP registration
Patient care through video visits is billable through OHIP. Physicians submit their bills for video visit consultations directly to OHIP. There is no cost to patients for video visit services.
Are there any limitations on where I or the patient need to be to conduct a video visit?
You can conduct a video visit from anywhere in Ontario where a high-speed internet connection is available. Patient encounters must be conducted from inside the province of Ontario as mandated by the Ministry of Health (both the patient and the provider must be physically within Ontario at the time of the video consultation).

How do I become an OTNhub member as an organization?
Private Practice Sign up
If you are a physician or allied health provider and want to apply for your private practice that might include Admin or other staff, you will be required to sign-off on a Terms of Service which will cover you and your support team. Use Private Practice Sign Up to apply for an OTNhub membership.
Health Care Organization Sign Up
If you work under a health care organization such as a hospital, family health team or family practice, your organization needs to identify a Primary Contact- Membership who is the person to sign off on the Terms of Service and a Primary Contact – Service who will be OTNhub’s point of contact at your organization.
For Primary Contact- Membership: please use the Health Care Organization Sign Up to apply for an OTNhub membership.
How much do OTNhub services cost me?
Private Practice
If you are a physician or allied health provider and want to apply for your private practice that might include admin or other staff:
- OTNhub service is free for physicians who receive 50% or more funding from MOHLTC, a LHIN or OHIP.
- Allied health providers signing up with their own independent practice are subject to annual subscription fees.
Health Care Organizations
If you are applying for an organizational membership or for individual provider accounts under an organization:
- OTNhub service is free for organizations that receive 50% or more funding from MOHLTC, a LHIN or OHIP.
- Other not-for-profit or for-profit organizations are subject to group subscription fees.

OTNhub.ca gives health care providers a single “go-to” place to connect and collaborate with their patients and peers, from anywhere to everywhere in Ontario. With OTNhub membership, you get access to the OTNhub Directory to find and connect with your peers, along with relevant virtual care choices for patient care that can enhance your practice – all easily made available online.
