Government and OMA Protecting Gains in Health Care

The McGuinty government and the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) have tentatively agreed on a new Physician Services Agreement that runs to March 2014.

The OMA Board of Directors has unanimously recommended the agreement for ratification by its members.  The physician ratification process will occur in early December.

The agreement protects and builds on the gains made for patients over the last nine years through the partnership of the McGuinty government and the OMA. Main elements of the agreement include:

otn.ca and new link requirements

Although the url for the new website remains the same (otn.ca), links to documents on the site have changed, which means that a document cannot be accessed at the previous address.  Members who bookmarked or "favourited" items on the old site should delete them and re-boomark/favourite the documents with the appropriate address on the new site.

Thanks and apologies for the inconvenience.

Clinical Protocols

Please note that Clinical Protocols are now housed within the Telemedicine Directory.  To find a Clinical Protocol, simply search the Telemedicine Directory for the appropriate consultant or site profile.

Ontario and OMA reach agreement

The Government and the OMA have reached a new Physician Services agreement!  One of the main elements of the agreement is to "modernize the delivery of health care and lowering wait times through e-consultations, enabling patients to communicate with their doctor more easily, allowing for more virtual connections between family doctors and specialists, and an expansion of telemedicine services".  For details, read the release.
