OTN introduces "Guidelines for Telemedicine Scheduling & Patient Care Coordination"

OTN is pleased to introduce "Guidelines for Telemedicine Scheduling & Patient Care Coordination" to better support the clinical scheduling of telemedicine appointments. These guidelines outline the roles and responsibilities of all telemedicine participants during the scheduling process to streamline co-ordination between patients and providers.

National Nursing Week 2014

OTN websites NOT affected by "Heartbleed"

OTN's Security and Operations team would like to assure you that connections to your OTN websites were not affected by the recently released vulnerability to OpenSSL nicknamed “Heartbleed”. OTN takes the security and privacy of your data seriously and considers it critical that we react to any potential security issue as quickly, effectively, and transparently as possible.

Fiscal 2013-14 Year End

ALERT! The cut-off date to enter/update events for inclusion in 2013-14 Ministry, LHIN and OTN planning reports is end of day Friday, April 11, 2014. Data entered, updated or received after this date will not be reflected in these reports.

Nominate a Nursing Star

National Nursing Week recognizes nurses for the outstanding role that they play in improving the health of Canadians. For the second year in a row, OTN will be launching a province-wide contest to select 5 telemedicine nurses who are excellent ambassadors for virtual care in Ontario. Winners will be chosen based on their degree of professionalism, commitment and service to the patients, families and providers using telemedicine.

Georgian TM 101 Course

OTN is working in partnership with Georgian College for a Clinical Telemedicine 101 course to provide clinicians with the knowledge to foster clinical telemedicine with the next course starting January 27, 2014.

The program is conducted through OTN videoconferencing and Georgian online modules. Student topics include: change management, TM terminology, clinical and educational etiquette, TM regulations, the promotion of your program and the future TM.
