Announcing the launch of OTNhub.ca: the next generation of telemedicine

The rate of change in the digital world is nothing short of dazzling. The way we work, communicate and collaborate continues to evolve with new services and applications being introduced every day.

So it gives me great pleasure to announce the launch of the OTNhub, the new one-stop telemedicine service that delivers enhanced convenience and functionality to Ontario’s healthcare providers.

When the integration of OTN services is fully completed in the near future, the OTNhub will allow Primary Care Providers, Specialty Care Providers (specialists and allied health providers) and Healthcare Organizations to access all services relevant to them with a single sign-in. From there, they can connect and collaborate with their patients and peers from anywhere to everywhere in Ontario.

Your member page has now been replaced with OTNhub.ca, with more information to help expand your telemedicine practice:

  1. Landing on OTNhub.ca, gives all public healthcare providers a “one stop” to see all of  OTN’s products and services relative to their practice
  2. Easy sign-up to get a range of convenient services
  3. Access to knowledge products and the learning centre.
  4. Sign-in to OTN products and services using your OTN or OneID credentials.

What can you experience when you sign-in to OTNhub today?

  1. A single sign-in with direct access to the Directory, Videoconference, Schedule, Help, Learn, a number of “Show Me How” intuitive guides and “What’s New”.
  2. The Directory, with an improved search algorithm and additional filtering functionality, to allow you to search and identify profiles and locations of your peers, and then connect with them. You will have editing control over your information in the Directory by clicking “My Directory Profile" found under your username at the top right-hand corner.
  3. Related to the Directory, the new Site Finder tool lets you find telemedicine sites that are in close proximity to you.  Type in a location and click on the map to find sites near it!
  4. Enhanced videoconferencing via your personal computer. With this service, you can videoconference anywhere you have web access. If your organization has a traditional room-based system, you can now augment it with PC-based videoconferencing.

Over time, the OTNhub will feature dashboards for key services and provide a tailored overview of your work.

I think it’s important to note that these advances in convenience and functionality do not come at the expense of security or privacy. We continue to abide by all relevant legislation. With the introduction of the OTNhub, we have updated our User Agreement and Privacy Policy and I urge you to take a moment to review.

We continue to plan further enhancements to serve our members, improve healthcare for Ontarians and deliver efficiencies to the province. We thank you for your on-going support and encouragement and look forward to continuing to serve you.
