OTNhub v1.8 Released

OTNhub v1.8 has been released and includes a number of enhancements:

Directory

Search
Directory search now includes Guided Search, letting you quickly find sites to host patients for telemedicine, connect with specialists to refer patients, or ask for advice. The results page for each of the Guided Searches includes custom filters to help you narrow the results based on your specific search criteria.

Search Results
We’ve also improved the Directory’s search algorithm to promote the most relevant results based on profile completeness. Profiles containing the most detailed information based on your search criteria will show up first in your search results.

Profiles
Directory profiles have also been enhanced to indicate clinical services offered by healthcare professionals when seeing patients via telemedicine, support for multiple CPSO-indicated specialties for physicians, and an indicator for Indigenous Services.

Videoconferencing - Browser Compatibility

Chrome
Last month, OTN announced it would introduce support for using the Google Chrome browser for videoconferencing on the OTNhub. We have since discovered a software issue in our vendor’s Chrome implementation that poses a risk to a user’s privacy*. To ensure we uphold our commitment to protecting the confidentiality of personal information in a manner that exceeds industry standards, we are working closely with our vendor to resolve this issue. Unfortunately, that means we will need to delay the introduction of Chrome support until this is resolved.

OTN takes this issue very seriously as we know some members are impacted by the current limited range of supported browsers. We are working diligently to address the issue as quickly as possible, and will update members once the issue has been resolved.
Until then, you can continue to use the latest versions of Internet Explorer and Safari to access the OTNhub videoconferencing service.

* Internet Explorer and Safari browsers are not impacted by this risk.

Firefox
Effective March 7 2017, Firefox removed support for certain plugins. This update prevents the use of OTN’s videoconference service (including the ‘send invite’ feature) on Firefox. Users are encouraged to use the latest version of Internet Explorer or Safari when conducting browser-based videoconferences.

For support on using Internet Explorer or Safari, please visit our eVisit’s support page. If you have any questions, please contact Customer Care at 1-855-654-0888 and select option ‘2’ for Technical Support.

Note: This message was revised on March 24, 2017 to reflect our revised timeline for Chrome support.
