To make scheduling telemedicine appointments easier, faster and more intuitive, OTN is making a series of enhancements to our telemedicine scheduling tool Ncompass. In August, new features will be added to the tool to make it easier for you to coordinate your telemedicine appointments online, at your convenience, without the need for fax, manual data entry or OTN intervention. These features give you greater control over your scheduling needs and are the first of many enhancements being made to the tool over the next year.

The following features are the first to be added:

  • Real-Time Response to Webcast Request:  Webcast will now be automatically approved or declined and you’ll only need to provide one business day before the scheduled appointment to receive an approval.
  • Clinical Attachments: You’ll now be able to attach documents that do not contain Patient Health Information such as protocols and blank assessment forms to your telemedicine requests, reducing the need for fax and manual paperwork.
  • Marked Time Labels for System Availability: You’ll now have the ability to alert other users of a conflict, should they try to schedule an appointment when your system is unavailable, by marking your system as closed without having to contact OTN. This makes scheduling a telemedicine appointment faster and more efficient.
  • Pre-Populated Request Assistance Email: Now, when you hit “Request Assistance” you’ll be prompted to fill out a form to save you time and to ensure OTN and patient sites receive the information needed to provide you with a fast quality response.

Watch for our notification of the release in August and the tools that will be available to help members learn more about how to integrate these new features into their scheduling practice and work process.
