What a year it’s been for Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN)!

With all the hard work, dedication and passion our partners and employees have devoted to delivering innovative telemedicine solutions, it comes to no surprise that telemedicine continues to grow both in scope and adoption. Last year alone, OTN supported more than 390,000 patient consultations, working with 1,300 healthcare organizations and more than 8,000 healthcare providers in 1,748 sites across Ontario. As a result, almost 260 million kilometers of patient travel was avoided. That represents nearly 330 trips to the moon and back!

Telemedicine is truly transforming our healthcare system with a new model of care delivery – one that improves access, increases satisfaction and lowers costs.  To showcase these transformative benefits and results, OTN is proud to announce the launch of OTNresults.ca.

OTNresults.ca is a compelling resource which highlights the impact telemedicine has on patients, providers and the greater healthcare system.  As you will read throughout otnresults.ca, we have surpassed our expectations for the year. Clinical telemedicine activity increased by 33% over 2012/13, representing an additional 77,000 events over last year. This, along with all OTN’s activity for the year, is outlined in our Year in Review.

We’ll continue to work hard to deliver the benefits that patients, healthcare providers and the system need and contribute to transforming the healthcare system. We ask that you join us in this exciting journey.
